It is always great to start off the summer by hanging with friends, going to the beach, having a nice cup of lemonade by the pool or even staying at home and watching movies all day. However, another option is having a summer job.

Having a summer job is a way to stay active during the summer.

There are many different things you can do for a summer job. If you love being by the water, you can be a lifeguard for Raging Waters or on the beach. You can also help the elderly, babysit or even be a dog walker. You could also work at snack bar during softball or baseball games.

Depending at what you are good at, there is usually a summer job appropriate for you. Your pay would be minimum wage so you might not have to ask your parents for money anymore when you want to go out with your friends.

These summer jobs could teach thie skills to communicate with people and be polite.

During the summer, you can also join clubs. There are many different clubs, such as environmental clubs that help pick up trash at the park.

In order to find these types of jobs, you can go online and look up information on what jobs are available, or you can talk to your counselor about jobs as well. You need to have a 2.0 or higher GPA to have a work permit and only can work a certain amount of hours as well.

A recent announcement in the Charger Daily Bulletin indicated that Raging Waters is now hiring for lifeguard, food cart, warehouse and cabana positions. If you need help, go by the Career Center where Ms. Tammy Mazziotti can assist you.
