On Saturday, Oct. 28, the Chargers fell down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. Party buses lined up the streets of Westminster, and Charger students filed onto the red carpet with makeup done and dresses glimmering.

Walking into the dance, Mr. Dave Trask and Mr. Chris Sweet, vice principals, breathalyzed all the students. Although this was uncomfortable, it was necessary to ensure the safety of the students attending the dance. Senora Marga Rodriguez, Spanish teacher, and Mr. Bud Harte, English teacher, checked students IDs for entry and then the night of wonder began.

The shining lights that aligned the the rose theater were colorful and bright. The tables were filled with marble rocks, delicately placed in a bowl with beautiful candles lighting the dark starry night. Brooke Smith, junior, said, “The decorations were okay; it felt very simple and underwhelming.”

The auditorium was decorated very nicely, ASB did an amazing job matching the Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass movie theme. It was very minimal, but still gorgeous. The venue did seem crowded; however, Charger pride was in the air.

While the night was young, Chargers piled onto the dance floor. The DJ did a decent job of hyping up the students; however, he played some suggestive tracks that many students did not know how to dance to and awkwardly stood there.

The entrees they served were fairly simple: pasta, bread, salad and an array of desserts.

This was my first Homecoming, and I had an amazing time spent dancing and taking pictures with all of my best friends.

Towards the end of the night, Talon Love was named as Homecoming King. Queen Audrey Canoy and Talon danced together in the traditional king and queen dance, and then the dance floor was opened to the rest of the students. “Thank you to everyone who voted for me and made this night extra special,” Talon said on Snapchat.

The late night slowly came to a close. Whether it was your first or last homecoming dance, it was a night to remember.
