A number of breakthroughs in science and technology are drawing interest, including the use of artificial intelligence medicines to increase the wellbeing of the people, self-sufficient everyday vehicles and programming for casual use.  Despite some concerns, these new advancements continue to affect the economy, politics, medicine and culture.

A major scientific project that biologists are undertaking is the Cell Atlas. According to the MIT Technology Review, biologists are developing “a scheme to individually capture and scrutinize millions of cells using the most powerful tools in modern genomics and cell biology.” This hyper-accurate model of human physiology will increasingly speed up the development and testing drugs. This knowledge could increase our understanding of lethal diseases and speed the search for a cure.

Another development in human physiology is the remarkable research to reverse paralysis. Scientists are making progress using brain implants to restore the freedom of movement lost by spinal cord injuries.

The public is also interested in the technological advancement of common household gadgets and Artificial Intelligence (A.I.).  Humans are interested in synthetic life, which reproduces human behavior. However, A.I. are becoming more human-like, and reports indicate that they are developing human emotions and beginning to understand human behaviors.

Minor developments include innovations coming to smartphones. Dual cameras, the improvement of the camera quality, and longer battery life are major breakthroughs for phone companies, such as Apple and Samsung, who have taken the step to improve their products. Because of the wide use of cell phones, people are always interested in these technological advancements.

Some ideas will take a decade or more to develop, but breakthroughs have the ability to greatly impact society.
