Former Charter Oak student athlete Bryce Bobo has been invited to the Seattle Seahawks minicamp after the conclusion of the 2018 NFL Draft, where he passed through all seven rounds without being drafted.

Bobo, 2013 graduate, has an opportunity to become the third CO alumni to make the league, the other two being Jason David, who was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2004 NFL Draft and won Super Bowl XLI in 2006, and Keith Smith, who played four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and is currently with the Oakland Raiders.

During his years at Charter Oak, Bobo accumulated a total of 109 catches for 1875 total receiving yards, averaging 64.7 yards per game, and hauled in 19 touchdowns. As a senior, he earned PrepStar All-West Region Honors at wide-receiver, first-team All-San Gabriel Valley, and first-team All-Sierra League, as well as being the Charger’s most valuable receiver his junior and senior years. After Charter Oak, he went on to play for the University of Colorado, where he recorded 970 career receiving yards, five receiving touchdowns, and one passing touchdown.

“When Bryce was here, he was a beast,” says Charter Oak football coach Steve Smith. “He’s super talented, has always been the best player, played both ways, and was truly a man among boys”.

Although he was not invited to the NFL Combine, where all draft prospects have an opportunity to impress scouts from all 32 teams, he made quite an impression at Colorado’s pro day, where he recorded a 4.66 40-yard dash, 9’8’’ broad jump, 28” vertical jump, and 9 reps on the bench-press.

Bobo obviously has tons of competition going into camp, with other wide-receivers such as David Moore, Cyril Grayson Jr., Jaron Brown and the obvious veterans Tyler Lockett and Pro-Bowler Doug Baldwin. He really has to show the Seahawk staff what he can really do.

The final roster announcements will be made in August, at the conclusion of the NFL preseason.
